Natsume Games Editorial Review

**** Math Play for the Nintendo DS presents a mixed bag of experiences among users, balancing engagement and educational value with some technical mishaps. Many educators and parents noted its positive reception among children, especially in tutoring environments where kids find joy in turning math practice into a game. The interactive nature of the game encourages a playful approach to learning, which some users believe can enhance children's attitudes towards mathematics. Adult users also found value in Math Play, seeing it as a useful tool to sharpen their math skills. However, there were significant complaints regarding game freezing during play, particularly with specific activities, which detracted from the overall experience. This technical issue has been persistent for some players, leading to frustrations that overshadow its educational potential. On the other hand, some parents felt that the game did not effectively aid in their children’s math struggles and also noted difficulties in navigating its features. Additionally, while one user appreciated the various game modes, they expressed concerns about the timing feature, suggesting it could be discouraging for younger players. Overall, Math Play provides an engaging framework for learning, though improvements in functionality and user experience are necessary to fully meet its educational aims. **
